WIC

WIC is a FREE Nutrition program designed to help new mothers, pregnant women, and children up to age 5, have the nutritious foods they need to have a healthy life. Park DuValle Community Health Center's WIC office (located on the 2nd Floor of the Main Office), is the only WIC office in the state of Kentucky located in a community health center. This benefit is great for getting all required health screenings processed as quickly as possible.

While WIC is intended for mothers, any legal guardian of a child under age 5 can apply (parents, step-parents, guardians, and foster parents). Whether or not you qualify for assistance is determined by a number of factors, including income. Those who receive WIC benefits must fall below 185% of the federal poverty line.

Those on Passport Health, Medicaid, or Food Stamps automatically qualify for WIC. The qualifying factors for these programs overlap with those of WIC. To get more information about your eligibility for WIC, call 502-774-4401 Ext. 1208

WIC also offers nutrition education as well as Breastfeeding Support;  lactation consultant, breast pumps, breastfeeding resources, educational materials and even a hotline for questions are all available for those seeking breastfeeding support.
